Star Coin 1: The first Star Coin is right in your path — just wait for the lava tide to subside, and avoid the meteors as you grab it.

Star Coin 2: After the checkpoint, you’ll see the second Star Coin encased in blocks. Ground pound through the first layer of bricks and cancel it (by pressing up on the thumbstick) before you go through the second layer and into the lava — all while avoiding meteors and the Bony Beetle! (It’s actually easiest to get under the bricks and let a meteor hit them — the meteor will fizzle on impact with the bricks, and you’ll have a moment to get clear before more meteors rain down.)

Star Coin 3: Toward the end of the level, where the lava tide is rising and falling, youll spot the last Star Coin in a gap between rocks. When the lava is at its highest point, jump down to collect it, then quickly wall jump out.

Star Coin 1: Early in the level, you will see the first Star Coin high up on a platform. To get there, jump on the nearby bricks, then jump up to find a hidden coin block. When you get on the block, the bricks below you will move up, giving you the final steppingstone you need to reach the Star Coin.

Star Coin 2: You’ll see a structure of bricks with the second Star Coin in the middle. Don’t hit the nearby P Switch — it won’t bring down the Star Coin, but it will bring down dozens of Mini Goombas to swarm the boat and stop it in its tracks. Instead, jump up and break through the bricks the old-fashioned way to reach your Star Coin.

Star Coin 3: You’ll see two platforms and a red pipe marking the end of the level. Stay on the boat for just a bit longer — the final Star Coin is beyond the pipe opening.

Star Coin 1: You’ll see this Star Coin near the beginning of the level. To reach it, drop down when the lava is low. As it begins to rise, jump on the giant Buzzy Beetles when they are floating. From here, jump up and reach the Star Coin.

Star Coin 2: Underneath the checkpoint flag, you’ll see the second Star Coin. Backtrack to an opening under the platform, then wait for the lava tide to recede. As soon as it does, dash through the path (jumping whenever there’s a bump because running over them will just slow you down) and claim the Star Coin.

Star Coin 3: The final Star Coin requires a bit of timing. Toward the end, you’ll spin on a screwtop mushroom platform to raise a second one out of the lava. Above this second platform, there are two question blocks with a space between them. You must raise the platform, jump to it, then jump up between the two question blocks. This will reveal a hidden block with a vine. Take the vine to a new area with the Star Coin. You can make some big jumps from the platforms to reach the Star Coin, but it’s easier to jump on the Fire Chomp in the area and boost yourself up to it.

Star Coin 1: When you see a POW Block, throw it to make the first Star Coin fall from above. Hurry and get it before the meteors destroy the blocks underneath it and it drops.

Star Coin 2: After the checkpoint, you’ll see rocks to climb on your left. Head up, and keep climbing after you see a signpost with a diagonal arrow — the Star Coin is above the rocks.

Star Coin 3: Near the end of the level, the path will split into three. The far right is a dead end, and the far left will take you to the exit. Heat up the middle path so you can collect the final Star Coin before finishing the level

Star Coin 1: You’ll see the first Star Coin just below a ledge, above some Bowser Stunners. Don’t worry, you won’t be crushed against the ceiling! Swing on over and collect the Star Coin.

Star Coin 2: After a series of falling Bob-ombs, you’ll see a P Switch against the ceiling. Swing over and hit it — the trail of blue coins will point you to the second Star Coin.

Star Coin 3: The final Star Coin is near the top, among some Bowser Stunners. Time your movements to avoid the electrical shocks.

Star Coin 1: All the Star Coins in this short level are easy to see. The first one comes early on, in a gap between two platforms. Slide down the wall to collect it, then wall jump out.

Star Coin 2: You’ll see the second Star Coin floating atop a small platform, guarded by a row of bricks. The easiest way to get this is to stand on top of the bricks until Bowser Jr. takes aim at you, then jump out of the way and let him smash through the bricks for you. The Star Coin will then be yours for the taking.

Star Coin 3: The final Star Coin in the game appears just before the door leading to the checkpoint and the final battle. It’s hovering over some lava next to a wall. Slide down the wall to snag it, then wall jump to safety on the nearby platform.
