PHOENIX -- Wily Peralta had trouble keeping the ball down in the second inning and Arizona took advantage, lining one hit after another. Tyler Bertuzzi Jersey . The right-hander started hitting his spots after that, setting up Milwaukee for a big finish. Peralta pitched seven effective innings, Aramis Ramirez lined a two-run double in the eighth inning and the Brewers broke open a close game late for a 9-3 victory over the Diamondbacks on Monday night. "In that second inning, I was missing pitches, missing location," Peralta said. "After that, I just got into a rhythm." Peralta (7-5) shook off that shaky inning to keep the NL Central-leading Brewers close against Arizona and Brandon McCarthy. Milwaukee ran away with it once McCarthy left, scoring three runs in the eighth against Will Harris (0-2): two on Ramirezs third hit and another on a run-scoring single by Khris Davis. Ryan Braun hit a two-run triple off J.J. Putz in the ninth inning and Scooter Gennett had a run-scoring single after homering earlier in the game for the Brewers, who had 12 hits. "We swung the ball really well throughout the game," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "There were a couple of chances early where we could have broken the game open." McCarthy gave the Diamondbacks a chance, shaking off his own early troubles to go seven innings. He helped himself out, too, slashing a two-run single in the second inning. Arizonas bullpen, which has been solid recently, couldnt hold it. Harris gave up the three runs with two outs in the ninth and the Brewers kept hitting from there, sending Arizona to its fifth loss in six games. "We had it set up pretty good right there, but it didnt work out," said Arizona manager Kirk Gibson, who was ejected in the ninth inning after a review failed to overturn a stolen base call at third base. "Two outs and to score all those runs, it didnt work out the way it wanted to." Both starters had some rough moments before settling down. Peralta appeared to be back on track in his last start after two shaky outings, holding the New York Mets to a run over 6 2-3 innings. The hard-throwing right-hander didnt keep the momentum rolling early against the Diamondbacks, giving up five hits in Arizonas three-run second inning. Roger Kieschnick had a run-scoring single in in his first at-bat after being called up to replace Bronson Arroyo, who was placed on the disabled list for the first time in his career due to a sore elbow. McCarthy, a .125 hitter this season, followed with a jam-shot single to right, driving in two more runs to put Arizona up 3-2. Peralta was sharp after that, retiring 10 straight batters until Kieschnick lined a leadoff single in the seventh. Arizona got two on against him, but Peralta hustled to first base to complete an inning-ending double play. He allowed three runs and nine hits and struck out six. "I still thought he fought it, was still up in the zone too much," Roenicke said. "Weve got to get him down in the zone, try to get some easy outs. Hes working so hard out there to get outs." McCarthy gave up five runs in his last start and appeared to be headed toward another shaky outing. He gave up two runs in the second inning and a leadoff homer by Gennett in the third, the 15th he has allowed this season. McCarthy retired 13 of the next 14 batters he faced, though, and was helped along by three double plays. Left fielder Gerardo Parra had the best of the bunch in the third inning, diving to rob Ramirez of a hit and throwing out Braun at second after he thought the ball was going to fall for a hit. Second baseman Aaron Hill also made diving stop up the middle to get Mark Reynolds in the seventh inning. McCarthy came out to start the eighth, but was lifted when the Brewers sent up a left-handed pinch-hitter. He allowed three runs and seven hits. "Back in a good place. I started attacking more and trying to do everything I could to keep us in it and go as deep as I could," McCarthy said. NOTES: A moment of silence was held before the game to honour Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, who died Monday from cancer at 54. ... The Brewers started Elian Herrera in centre field to give Carlos Gomez a night off. Gomez has reached base in 30 straight games. ... Arizonas Paul Goldschmidt extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a single in the first inning. ... Arizona LHP Wade Miley will start Tuesday in the second game of the series against RHP Kyle Lohse. Matthew Lorito Jersey .Y. - Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby captured his second career Art Ross trophy on Sunday after leading the NHL in scoring this season. Alex Delvecchio Jersey . Kyle Denbrook, a soccer player from Saint Marys University, took the CIS male athlete of the week honour. Stanley, a fourth-year business administration student from Charlottetown, scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Dalhousie on Friday and tallied again in a 1-0 win over Saint Marys on Sunday.MANGARATIBA, Brazil - A hard rain was falling when Gianluigi Buffon paused for a moment during an Italy training session Tuesday. Leaning forward with both hands on his knees, Buffon appeared to be resting or somehow trying to withstand the rain. Or perhaps the 36-year-old goalkeeper and Italy captain was reflecting on this: He is only the third player in history to be part of five World Cup squads, along with Germany great Lothar Matthaus and former Mexico goalkeeper Antonio Carbajal. Buffon first went to the World Cup back in 1998, although he didnt play a second-choice option behind Gianluca Pagliuca. He then took over the starting position from 2002 onward. "A fifth World Cup is a nice milestone but that doesnt mean Im satisfied," Buffon said before departing for Brazil. "Both individually and as a squad were preparing to surprise people." Buffon, of course, doesnt need to prove anything at this point in his career. He was one of the driving forces behind Italys run to the 2006 World Cup title, when he didnt concede a single goal to opponents during normal play over the course of seven matches — letting in only an own goal from Cristian Zaccardo and a penalty from Zinedine Zidane in the final won over France. He helped Parma to the UEFA Cup title way back in 1999 and has since won five Serie A titles with Juventus — including the last three. "As the years go by, Gigi still has the same amount of desire," said midfielder Claudio Marchisio, who plays with Buffon with both Italy and Juventus. "Hes a great professional, a great friend, and a top-level player. Hes a player who is able to give his all in every moment and always offer the right words of encouragement. "There are players here who are at their first big tournament and hes always there offering the right words of advice," Marchisio added Tuesday. Now that Buffon is setting records for longevity, its worth remembering what an early start he had. Born to members of Italys national teams in athletics (his mother) and weightlifting (father), Buffons distant relative Lorenzo Buffon was also Italys goalkeeper in the 1950s. Having played in midfield as a kid, Buffon decided he wanted to be a goalkeeper after seeing Thomas NKono defend Cameroons goal during the 1990 World Cup in Italy — when Buffon was 12 — and years later Buffon named his first son Louis Thomas after NKono. In 1991 when Buffon was just 13, Parma purchased his rights and put him in their youth system. Mike Green Jersey. At 17, Buffon made his Serie A debut with Parma, keeping a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw against AC Milan. At 19, Buffon made a memorable Italy debut on a snowy pitch in Moscow during a playoff with Russia for a spot in the 1998 World Cup. Coming off a frigid bench as an injury replacement for Pagliuca, Buffon first raised eyebrows by wearing shorts in the arctic-like conditions then made a series of impressive saves in a 1-1 draw. Fast forward to 2006, when Buffon was one of the few key players to stay with Juventus when the Turin club was relegated to Serie B due to a match-fixing scandal — meaning that a month after guiding Italy to the World Cup title, he was playing in small second-division stadiums. Then at the 2010 World Cup, Buffon struggled with back pain. He played only a portion of Italys opening match and the Azzurri were promptly eliminated after the first round. But he was back in place to help Italy reach the final of the 2012 European Championship. And last October, Buffon surpassed Fabio Cannavaro with an Italy-record 137th appearance. So how does Buffon keep going? "Motivation is the key," he said in a recent interview with Italian daily La Repubblica. "Reflexes diminish. At my age you dont improve anymore, so its better to reduce training and take better care of injury prevention, nutrition and gym work." Buffon has often recounted how he fell into depression about 10 years ago, then resuscitated himself by turning to literature. He has also been the subject of a couple betting scandals. In 2011, he married Czech model Alena Seredova but Buffon announced last month when Italy gathered to begin training that they had separated. In announcing their split, Buffon thanked Seredova publicly for not making things too difficult for him, and said that he hopes she will bring their two boys to watch him play in Brazil. Whether Seredova and the boys come is yet to be seen. Either way, Buffon has already inscribed his name in the World Cup record books. And who knows, maybe Buffon will continue playing and go back to Russia and the site of his Italy debut for the 2018 World Cup, when hell be 40 — the same age that one of his idols, Dino Zoff, was when he helped Italy to the 1982 World Cup title. "Ill keep playing as long as I dont become a reserve," Buffon said. "Once the day comes that I get benched, thats when Ill hang my boots up." ___ Follow Andrew Dampf at http://twitter.com/asdampf ;Youth NFL Jerseys Cheap Disocunt Football Jerseys China Jerseys Wholesale Authentic Jerseys Wholesale Jerseys Free Shipping China NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys Wholesale ' ' '
