Mike SullivanRole: Offensive Assistant NFL Coaching Experience: 15 seasonsPositions Coached: Assistant Offensive Line Coach (Cleveland Womens Delanie Walker Jersey , 2001-2004), Offensive Line Coach (Cleveland, 2007-2008), Offensive Line Coach (San Diego, 2009-2012), Offensive Line Coach (Cleveland, 2013) and Assistant Offensive Line Coach (Tennessee, 2014-Present)Collegiate Coaching Experience: Graduate Assistant (Miami University, 2000), Offensive Line (Western Michigan, 2005-2006).Coaching Track RecordCleveland BrownsMike Sullivan’s NFL coaching career started in Ohio. Sullivan, a former NFL offensive lineman, assisted Offensive Line Coach Larry Zierlein from 2001-2004. Sullivan and Zierlein were members of Offensive Coordinator Bruce Arians’ staff - a group that included ex-Titans OC Terry Robiskie. HC Butch Davis had a solid group of coaches - some of whom would have successful years as NFL coaches. Arians, Todd Bowles and Chuck Pagano eventually became head coaches themselves.Cleveland’s last playoff berth was in 2002 under Davis’ staff. During Sullivan’s time with the Browns, he helped coach Pro Bowl OL and Super Bowl Champion, Shaun O’Hara - who signed with the Browns as an undrafted free agent. Unfortunately, the bulk of O’Hara’s success - as has been the case for some - took place once leaving the Land.Sullivan left the Browns organization following the end of the Davis-era. He returned to Cleveland in 2013 under new HC Rob Chudzinski. Sullivan’s working relationship with Chudzinski began in the 2004 season in Cleveland. Chudzinski served as the Browns Tight Ends Coach.Chudzinski, who was going on his third stint with Cleveland, would only last one season following a 4-12 finish in AFC North. San Diego ChargersPrior to reuninting with Chudzinski in Cleveland, Sullivan worked with him in San Diego. Under HC Norv Turner, Sullivan worked with fellow Offensive Line Coach, Hal Hunter, as a position coach for the offensive line. Turner was able to post a 13-3 record - the second best record in the AFC behind only the Colts - and tied for second with the New Orleans Saints for second best record in the league. The Chargers season ended with a disappointing loss to the New York Jets in the divisional round of the AFC playoffs.Sullivan coached OG Kris Dielman to second team All Pro Honors. Dielman would earn a Pro Bowl nod the following season, but the Chargers would fail to reach the post season. In fact, San Diego would remain out of the playoffs for the remainder of Sullivan’s time with the team.Tennessee Titans2014 marked the beginning of the short-lived Ken Whisenhunt-era in Nashville.Sullivan was hired to assist Offensive Line Coach Bob Bostad in 2014. Bostad would remain the coach of the offensivel line for two seasons. In 2014, LT Taylor Lewan was the Titans first round selection. Sullivan has been with the team since Lewan’s rookie year and has witnessed first hand the growth and maturity that contributed to Lewan becoming an elite talent.Sullivan’s first two seasons in Nashville each ended with last place finishes in the AFC South. After some coaching shakeup, Sullivan hung around and assisted HOF Offensive Lineman Russ Grimm. Grimm helped the Titans’ offensive line transform from one of the leagues worst to arguably the top offensive line in the 2016 regular season.Although the 2016 Titans fell short of a postseason berth, the team managed to reach the playoffs the following year and earned a road win over Kansas City. Grimm retired following the 2017 season amid coaching staff changes. After the smoke cleared, Sullivan remained as one of the few survivors post-Mularkey.With the number of changes to the offense in general - combined with the additions of depth at offensive line during free agency - keeping Sullivan on staff made sense. His established relationship with the offensive line group will help the team transition into the new offense. Moreover, Sullivan’s experience in working with the offensive mind of Turner provides him with the insight that may help him explain some of the “newer” concepts. Turner’s offensive style involved working with sophisticated tight ends that had reliable set of hands that could also be used based on their individual versatility. Turner’s offensive designed involved forcing a team to defend the entire field - shades of Don Coryell. Will LaFleur’s offense feature similar concepts? It is probable. Sullivan’s coaching experience in diverse offensive will aid tremendously. He will help Offensive Line Coach Keith Carter inject new concepts/techniques in the trenches. An In-Depth Look at the (Very Brief) History of Matt LaFleur As A Playcaller The Tennessee Titans hired Matt LaFleur as Offensive Coordinator after he spent last season with the Los Angeles Rams in the same position.Well, not exactly the same position... LaFleur held the same title in LA, but he wasn’t calling the shots. It was ultimately head coach Sean McVay’s offense that LaFleur was helping to run.LaFleur has never called plays in a regular season NFL game. He was the playcaller at Ashland University in 2007, but that was over a decade ago. However, Sean McVay gave LaFleur the exciting opportunity to call plays during certain moments of the 2017 preseason. LaFleur called the entirety of the Rams’ August 19th matchup with the Oakland Raiders, as well as the second half of the final preseason game against the Green Bay Packers. So, taken with a few extra helpings of salt, let’s see if we can learn anything about Matt LaFleur from looking at these games, broken down drive-by-drive.August 19: Los Angeles Rams at Oakland RaidersDrive 1: 8 plays, 85 yards Authentic Austin Johnson Jersey , TD in 4:46The Rams got off to a hot start. With a good mix of zone handoffs and easy-access passes for Jared Goff, the Rams moved down the field efficiently. The offense capped off the drive with a beautiful play-action play that resulted in Goff finding a wide open Cooper Kupp in the end zone. Jared Goff finds a wide open Cooper Kupp for Matt LaFleur’s first called touchdown (NFL Gamepass).Drive 2: 3 plays, 7 yards, Punt in 2:13The Rams’ second drive didn’t go quite as well as the first. Really the drive was derailed by Khalil Mack’s sack on 2nd-and-5, a somewhat-famous play in which the Rams attempted to block Mack with a pair of rookie tight ends. Goff dumped the ball off to Todd Gurley on 3rd-and-15, who came up three yards short of the first down.Drive 3: 8 plays, 41 yards, Touchdown in 3:25The Rams’ third drive was another success. Using a heavy dose of shotgun passes, the Rams quickly marched to the two-yard line before Gurley punched through into the end zone.Drive 4: 15 plays, 58 yards, Field Goal in 8:57On the Rams’ fourth drive, they held the ball for nearly two-thirds of the second quarter. Mixing shotgun passes with runs from under center, the Rams slowly plodded down the field. LaFleur repeated a similar type of play that had worked on the first drive. It was blown up for no gain on this attempt. The Rams tried a similar play earlier where they brought Robert Woods back across after faking a handoff to the opposite side. The play to Woods worked great; this time, however, the Raiders saw it coming (NFL Gamepass). The drive came to a halt at the Oakland 17-yard line after backup running back Malcolm Brown was taken down for a loss of three, followed by Jared Goff stepping out of bounds for one yard after being pursued towards the sideline, and finally a screen to Cooper Kupp for 3 yards on 3rd-and-12.Drive 5: 6 plays, 13 yards, Punt in 2:50The Rams actual fifth drive was a one-play hand-off before halftime, so we’ll skip that one and move on to the first drive of the second half, with LaFleur calling plays for backups.Sean Mannion picked up one first down with a quick-out throw for 5 yards, but the drive stalled after back-to-back incomplete passes on 2nd and 3rd down.Drive 6: 4 plays, 22 yards, Punt in 2:57The next drive opened with a nicely designed underneath dump-off to the H-back that went for a 13-yard gain. The Rams had to punt after failing to convert a 3rd-and-1 run.Drive 7: 5 plays, 16 yards, Punt in 3:47This drive got off to a pretty good start with a couple of handoffs picking up a first down. Then a ten-yard holding penalty set the offense behind the chains, and they weren’t able to make up the lost yards.Drive 8: 3 plays, 1 yard, Punt in 1:11It’s really hard to judge play-calling this deep into a meaningless preseason game. With backups, lack of game-planning, and a general commitment to withholding the “good stuff,” it’s hard to isolate Matt LaFleur’s abilities as a playcaller and fairly evaluate him.Drive 9: 13 plays, 80 yards, Touchdown in 5:19But that being said... the Rams took over possession trailing 21-17 with 6:30 to play, and they marched down the field, chewed up nearly the entire game clock, and scored the go-ahead touchdown to win the game. The possession mixed a handful of hand-offs in with a mostly quick passing attack to get down the field. The Rams only had to convert one third-down on a 13-play drive, which is quite impressive. However, that doesn’t include the one 4th-down they converted on a pretty nice route combination. On fourth down Womens Brett Kern Jersey , the Rams run a double-in concept with the slot receiver clearing out with a 7 route. The “other” Michael Thomas makes the catch for the conversion. The go-ahead touchdown came on a 20-yard deep fade against single coverage on the next play. The Rams’ final possession was a one-play kneel-down.August 31: Los Angeles Rams at Green Bay PackersSean McVay called plays for the Rams in the first half of this game, and then turned the reigns over to LaFleur for the second half. The Packers received the second-half kickoff and proceeded to mount a nearly 12-minute drive, meaning the Rams didn’t gain possession until 3:42 remaining in the 3rd quarter.Drive 1: 3 Plays, 4 Yards, Punt in 1:44Our good pal Dan Orlovsky quarterbacked the Rams’ offense in this meaningless preseason contest. He opened things up with a short completion, but couldn’t connect with his target down the left sideline on 3rd-and-6 two plays later. The Rams punted.Drive 2: 9 Plays, 64 Yards, Touchdown in 5:39LaFleur’s second drive as a playcaller didn’t begin until the 4th quarter, with 12:23 to go in the game. A pair of inside handoffs moved the ball into Packers’ territory. A couple short-outs and another hand-off put the Rams at 1st-and-10 inside the 35-yard line. The drive was full of inside zone hand-offs, but sprinkled in were quick-drop pass plays from under center, similarly aligned to the plays that became inside zones. Not much play-action, mostly just alternating between inside zone and quick drop pass, usually to a speed-out in the flat. The defense’s inability to recognize pass or run from the formation led to the touchdown at the end of the drive. The Rams ran many plays in a row out of a similar formation and kept the defense off guard, leading to this touchdown. No one follows Johnny Mundt, a backup tight end trying to make the Rams roster, as he motions across the formation, expecting him to be a lead blocker for a run play. But he leaks out and Orlovsky finds him with space to run in for the touchdown.Drive 3: 4 Plays, 19 Yards, Punt in 1:00Orlovsky hit his running back out of the backfield for 12 yards on first down, but then the drive stalled after an incomplete attempt on 3rd and short. The final drive of the game consisted of two clock-killing handoffs. Analyzing the DataEven though it’s preseason, and all the caveats I described above (about backups getting significant playing time, about the full offense possibly not yet being installed, about teams not gameplanning for their opponents, and about teams trying not to give away all their secret plans) are in play, I still think it’s worthwhile (or at least interesting) to break down LaFleur’s playcalling tendencies.Matt LaFleur Playcalling DataDistribution# of SnapsPercent of PlaysAverage Yards per PlayTotal Yards GainedDistribution# of SnapsPercent of PlaysAverage Yards per PlayTotal Yards GainedThe distribution of the second half Green Bay game was fairly even, with 9 passes to 10 runs (two of those coming with little to no time remaining). The Oakland results, however, were pretty heavily weighted towards the passing game. There were two plays called as passes that ended up not counting in the pass attempts, the Khalil Mack sack mentioned above and the play Jared Goff was forced to step out of bounds for a one yard gain. I included those as part of the pass count in the table above. What To ExpectSo based on all this information, what can we expect to see from LaFleur’s Titans on Sunday?Well, without getting into too many specifics, I expect to see a fairly balanced distribution between run and pass. A good dose of play-action and easy-access throws are likely, especially if Luke Falk gets heavy playing time. They’ll probably want to make life easy on the rookie by giving him plenty of defined reads, easy dump-offs and screens, and plenty of misdirection and play action to open up passing lanes.Mostly, the playcalls will be pretty simple in general. They want to see if the fringe roster guys are executing plays with proper technique when the live action begins. Are the wide receivers hitting their depths? Are the linemen staying low in their stance? Are the running backs reading the zone blocks in front of them?So while this data may give us a hint or two of what to expect from LaFleur, the truth is we won’t really know anything until we see this new offense in action. The good news is kickoff is (finally) right around the corner.

Jordan Matthews http://www.authenticsphiladelphiaeagles.com/cheap-lane-johnson-jersey , Eagles agree to contract to bring wide receiver back to Philadelphia , according to a report from Jordan Schultz. Adam Schefter is also confirming the move. The Eagles’ 2014 second-round pick is back in Philly.Matthews was spotted at the Eagles’ facility on Tuesday. The Eagles were likely putting the 26-year-old through a workout to check up on his health status. Matthews has dealt with a number of injury issues over the past few years. His most recent ailment was a hamstring injury that ultimately caused him to be waived by the Patriots with an injury settlement back in August. The Eagles desperately needed help at wide receiver considering Nelson Agholor, Kamar Aiken, and Shelton Gibson were their only healthy wideouts for this week’s game. Matthews offers the ability to make an immediate impact due to his knowledge of the offense and his relationship with Carson Wentz. As a rookie in 2016, Wentz targeted JMatt 117 time for 73 receptions, 804 yards, and three touchdowns. It also doesn’t hurt that Matthews is a hard-working guy who’s well-liked in the locker room. While Matthews makes some sense as a short-term option, it’s hard to be overly thrilled about his return. JMatt is purely a possession receiver who’s limited to playing in the slot. This means that Nelson Agholor Youth Alshon Jeffery Jersey , who really excelled while replacing Matthews’ old role in 2017, will now be forced to play more on the outside. Agholor is capable of playing out on the boundary but it’s not the spot where he’s maximized. Some may cite Matthews’ production from 2014 through 2016 as reason to be excited about his return. The problem with using those stats to defend Matthews, however, is that they don’t account for context. I’ve previously laid out how those numbers were inflated and not truly representative of Matthews’ talent. Click here for another good breakdown on Matthews’ limitations and strengths.Whether you like the signing or not, the reality is that Matthews is back now. He’ll give the Eagles another receiving option against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. UPDATE: It’s official. Eagles placed Mike Wallace on injured reserve to free up a roster spot for JMatt.Jason Peters planning for Carson Wentz’s return We haven’t gotten any official word that Carson Wentz has been medically cleared for contact just yet, but it seems like Jason Peters is preparing for the quarterback’s return in Week 3 against the Colts.Wentz has looked progressively better since the preseason, and despite not making his Week 1 goal of returning to the field, the team has rightfully been taking things slow to best prevent re-aggravating the injury.Head coach Doug Pederson has Color Rush Ronald Darby Jersey , on occasion, been testy with reporters about whether Wentz was cleared and who would be starting at quarterback in their season opener, but all signs point to the young quarterback being back sooner rather than later.Jason Peters suffered a quad injury on Sunday against the Bucs, but is giving it his all to get back on the field to protect his quarterback. We haven’t heard anything official from Pederson, but it seems like the players are at least preparing for Wentz’s return. Not that Eagles fans aren’t thankful for what Nick Foles pulled off in the playoffs and Super Bowl, but I feel safe saying we’re all ready to get back on the Wentz Wagon.

Saturday Night’s Alright For Commenting: July 28 http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/kareem-jackson-jersey , 2018 I’ve lived three hours from Houston for the majority of my life, and not once, not never, have I been to an Astros game. I’ve seen it. I’ve walked past it. And now, finally, tomorrow, I will get to go out to Houston and see my boyz play the Astros in Houston. I’ll be watching Texas lose to a better baseball team, and the entire time I’ll complain about the air conditioner.I’ll end every conversation with Womens Julien Davenport Jersey , ““Yeah, but the Astros tanked.” I’ll talk about how the tanking helped Texas pad their record to make the postseason, and I’ll bring up 2015 and 2016. Yes, the ring counts. Whatever. I don’t even care anymore. I like the Rangers now purely as an aesthetic summertime experience. The ceiling fan. Eric Nadel on the radio while I drive to play basketball. Win, lose, whatever, I’m excited for tomorrow and to knock another ballpark off the list. Anyways, that’s all I got. Give me something to do after the Texas-Houston game is over tomorrow. Sound off in the comments below to discuss whatever. Just remember the standard commenting rules apply.2018 Houston Texans Training Camp: Will Fuller V Got Strong This Summer This is the time of year beat reporters live for. They have all the control and all the power. Like kittens at the tit http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/bruce-ellington-jersey , we are at the mercy of their snippets of reporting. Waiting for some content to guzzle down, we read stories about the Texans being excited about Christian Covington, Romeo Crennel restoring bite to the Texans’ defense, and Tyrann Mathieu’s leadership. And if we are lucky, we get a cozy little feature piece like this to nuzzle:I have nothing against these kinds of stories. This is what we get this time of year, and none of it is going to matter. So instead of devouring each little Kevin Johnson goal line interception or getting giddy over Justin Reid’s aggression, it’s best to look at last year and the offseason to extrapolate information into 2018 as best we can. Until we get new tape, new numbers and new schemes in action http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/tyrann-mathieu-jersey , this is the best we got when it comes to football analysis. However, we humans always like a good narrative. I’m no different. Every year, I get sucked into one. This year, it’s Will Fuller V bulking up to 185 pounds. Coming out of college, Fuller V was the speed of light. He was a great route runner and a dynamic player. In the professional game, he’s been exactly that, but the two biggest negatives he had coming out of college have plagued him as well—catching ability and the size required to be durable in the NFL. The hands criticism hasn’t been erroneous. Fuller still struggles at high-pointing the ball and working the shorter ends of the field, but it doesn’t matter as much when you can outrun someone by ten yards. The durability issue has been more troubling. Since he was selected by the Texans in the first round of the 2016 NFL Draft Womens Kevin Johnson Jersey , Fuller V has started 23 of a possible 32 games. He had minor knee surgery after suffering a knee injury in Week 17 last season. He cracked his ribs.He broke his collarbone last summer. He battled hamstring issues his rookie season. That was the old Fuller V. The new Fuller V is thick. He’s 185 pounds of Top Thrill Dragster. He’s running up sand dunes. He has newfound biceps. This is what Aaron Wilson reported during training camp:This is all I care about for the rest of summer. If Fuller V can stay healthy for an entire season, this offense has the potential to stave off some of that expected nasty regression. With the amount of attention devoted to DeAndre Hopkins, Houston has to have a receiver who can stretch the field in one-on-one situations and split the safeties. If not, Houston’s offense becomes a lot of flat throwing and Nuk force-feeding. We saw what happened last year when both Hopkins and Fuller are healthy with competent quarterback play. In limited action, Fuller V had a touchdown rate of 25% for the entire 2017 season, catching seven touchdowns on thirteen receptions when Watson was on the field. If Fuller’s added weight leads to better durability and health, last season’s six game joy ride could become sixteen games of diabolical hell unleashed.

In football terms Youth Jon Bostic Jersey , it’s a hit that, well, knocks the slobber right out of the other player’s mouth. I’ll be posing six hard-hitting questions to BTSC fans every game-day morning during the 2018 regular season. The Pittsburgh Steelers take on their divisional foes, the Baltimore Ravens, in the friendly confines of Heinz Field tonight. Fans’ hopes are alive and well coming off the Black-and-gold’s first victory of the season last Monday night — but can the team build on the win? BTSC fans will watch every move and hold the Steelers accountable because they’re not your run-of-the-mill Steelers’ fans, but a cut above. They crave more in-depth commentary.Q1: With the cornerback situation a mess — Artie Burns struggling and Mike Hilton unavailable — who should play the slot and opposite Joe Haden?Q2: Will the secondary make Ravens’ quarterback Joe Flacco look like Joe Montana or the Flacco the Steelers have been used to? Q3: Will the secondary need to provide better coverage or does the front-seven need to provide more pressure to win tonight?Q4: Baltimore has given up the fourth fewest points (51) in the NFL. If the game comes down to a shootout will the Steelers be able to muster enough firepower against such a stout defense?Q5: Linebacker Matthew Thomas received first-team reps this week Youth Javon Hargrave Jersey , How would you like to see him used during the game? Do you like this move?Q6: The Ravens use Terrell Suggs from either side. Will they line him up against Alejandro Villanueva who struggled last week? Will AV be able to handle him or struggle again?Bonus: If you had to bet your BBQ grill or smoker, does wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster or Antonio Brown have more receiving yards? How confident would you be making that wager?A Week-4 win against the Ravens would go a long way to end the pessimistic talk on the BTSC boards. Thirteen more games remain in the season, but every loss matters. The Steelers need to take the season week to week, and the first hurdle in doing so is to beat the Ravens. Will the Steelers be able to answer the above questions positively?Six Steelers’ Slobberknockers for Week 5: A half-dozen questions for BTSC fans to discuss What the heck is a “slobberknocker?” In football terms, it’s a hit that, well Youth James Conner Jersey , knocks the slobber right out of the other player’s mouth. I’ll be posing six hard-hitting questions to BTSC fans every game-day morning during the 2018 regular season. On the surface, the Atlanta Falcons and their 1-3 record would seem to present the perfect opportunity for the Steelers to get back on track. Atlanta is coming off of consecutive losses in Weeks 3 and 4 in a couple of shootouts — surrendering a late score to the Cincinnati Bengals last week and being bested the week before 43-37 by the New Orleans Saints. The Falcons, in many respects, mirror the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Falcons had their offensive hiccup in Week 1 (losing 18-12 to the Philadelphia Eagles) while the Steelers had theirs last week. But that shouldn’t be the case this week when the two prolific offenses square off against each other because their defenses are in shambles due to injuries and poor play. Will this be the week that Steelers fans regain faith in their beloved team? That’s on the hearts and minds of BTSC fans — fans who are a cut above the run-of-the-mill Steelers fans. The following questions are geared towards these insightful fans to gauge their thoughts. Q1: With inside linebacker, Vince Williams sidelined today, how much of an impact will his absence have? Who is your choice to replace him?Q2: Where does the blame lie for the Steelers’ poor running game? Coaching Authentic Xavier Grimble Jersey , James Conner, offensive line or defensive schemes? Will Conner flourish today?Q3: Falcons’ rookie wideout, Calvin Ridley is taking the NFL by storm, will he outshine Julio Jones again today? Who will have the bigger day?Q4: The Steelers’ offense hasn’t scored in the second half of three games this year. Will that change today against a terrible Falcons defense? Will the team that scores last win the game?Q5: Defensive end Vic Beasley will be the focus of the front-seven of Atlanta’s defense, with the rest either underwhelming or injured. Will this give Ben Roethlisberger a clean pocket and ensure he doesn’t throw his sixth interception?Q6: Atlanta’s offensive line has given up 10 sacks so far this year, can the Steelers’ pass rush take advantage of the line and force Matt Ryan to turn the ball over?Bonus: Steelers’ outside linebacker Bud Dupree is tied for the team lead in sacks (3). If he hits a double-digit sack total this season Womens Marcus Gilbert Jersey , are you OK with him making $9.2 million in 2019?The season has been tumultuous so far, with the Pittsburgh Steelers struggling to a 1-2-1 record. Fingers are being pointed left and right at all aspects of the team here on the BTSC boards. The loss last week at the hands of their divisional rival, the Baltimore Ravens, has Steelers fans nervous about the team’s prospects for the rest of the season. Will the ship be righted against the Falcons and how will it happen?
